F/V Cool Change
One of the last Bristol Bay, Alaska, fishing boats built in the boom years of
the 90's by Kvichack Marine industries, the top builder at the time.
These boats were built to be ultimately reliable, for the world's largest,
and probably the most competitive, salmon fishery in the world.
All wiring was designed to be completely submersible, in case the windows
were broken or the boat swamped (a common occurrence).
Measuring 32 ft. by 14ft. wide, it can pack 25,000 lbs. of salmon.
This was the 20th Bay boat Ocean Currents subcontracted the complete electrical
design and wiring for this builder.
M/Y Blueberry
60 foot Ex-USCG bouy-tender
converted to a tow boat, with 12, 24, and 120 DC, along with 120/240 AC systems.
Ocean Currents has the experience and part sources to rebuild and upgrade old
120 VDC systems, making them safe and reliable again. Bonding and grounding
must be carefully considered with a 120 volt DC system on a steel boat.
M/Y Wyrle
62 foot classic pleasure yacht built in 1932 by the Boeing company,
famous aircraft builders. Their very last project in the marine field,
before focusing entirely on aircraft. Completely rewired by Ocean Currents,
with actual vintage gauges and classic 1930's look custom panels.
M/Y Prima
52 ft. luxury yacht, built entirely in mainland China by
Prima Yachts, Ltd., with sweeping elegant styling by Brian Holland.
This boat was the first of a still continuing production run of this model.
Ocean Currents did complete electrical design, procurement of materials,
Chinese worker training on site in China, and system design consultation on
all other an board systems. On going quality control and custom owner
modifications are still handled by Ocean Currents.
